The Santiago Award
is named after the "Fisherman" character in Hemingway's Nobel prize winning novel
"The Old Man and the Sea" and exemplifies the characteristics of "El Campeon". It is given to an individual that has
devoted their time and energy to promote and enhance young apprentices and the Apprenticeship
Programs in the Southern States.
