A Letter From Our Chairman
Dear Delegates, Apprentices, Families and Friends,
On behalf of the Council, its members and staff of the Southern States Apprenticeship Labor - Management Council,
I welcome each of you to the 57th Annual Southern States Apprenticeship Conference.
I look forward to this time together for all to share their ideas as we work during the Conference
toward our theme "A Partnership That Works."
I also hope everyone will reflect during the Conference on the contributions of all those who have promoted
and supported apprenticeship. Let us recognize first, the outstanding apprentices as our best and brightest
and our hope of the future and their hard work
and commitment that has elevated them to this position. Let us also recognize our labor organizations
for their continued efforts to supply the best-trained workforce and their realization that labor's
future relies on its ability to train. And let us give special recognition to management and their contribution
to apprenticeship. They are an exception, in that they have the vision to work
unselfishly, often putting the industry above their personal interest, to see apprenticeship
as the solution to providing skilled craftsmanship, with competitive wages for the individuals,
for their industry.
As Chairman, I welcome you to Savannah, Georgia. I hope your time together is productive and enjoyable and
that when we part, it will be with renewed enthusiasm for "A Partnership that Works".
Sincerely,

Louis Reine
Chairman
